Why Live
or Vacation in the Philippines? Simple, the Philippines is a beautiful
country. Cebu and Cebu City have loads of of the worlds best resorts. Most all Filipinos speak some English. It’s the third largest
English speaking country in the world. The national Language is Tagalog and
English is taught all through High school. There are 7,107 Islands to
visit. Many of the Islands have resorts, Hotels and white sand beaches,
Scuba Diving and all the Philippines Islands have beautiful women.
Plus, compared
to western countries it’s cheap to live in the Philippines. The Philippines
has a rich history and the citizens are warm and friendly, a smile goes a
long way here. There are thousands of foreigners living here, just like me.
The biggest population of foreigners is in Manila and then Cebu City with
many more spread out across all the Philippine Islands. It’s a great
place for retirement, a vacation or a part time home.
All
the major cities have shopping malls and all the comforts of home. Both
Asian and western products are sold here in the stores. Many foreigners
come here on medical and dental vacations. You can get the same care as back
home, but much, much cheaper. Others come to enjoy all the resorts, beaches,
Scuba Diving, women and the night life.
Living in
the Philippines can be very cheap. However, it depends on what type of a
lifestyle you want. Many foreigners live a very good life with a nice house,
condo or apartment with live in maid/s, driver and handyman for $1,000.00 a
month. It depends where you live and what you want. Manila is a little more
expensive, but still easily affordable with a modest monthly income.
Living
in the provinces (like me) can be very cheap and just $500.00 plus a month
might be enough. The Philippine currency is the Philippine Peso,
at present the exchange rate is approximately one USD $1.00 to P42.00 Peso.

The
Philippines is composed of 17 Regions, 81 Provinces, 131 Cities and some
41,995 Barangays. The population is approximately 85 million and there are
7,107 Islands.
