Retirement in the Philippines: Thousands of foreigners have retired in the Philippines. The biggest population of foreigners is in Manila then Cebu with several thousands more scattered all through the 7,107 Islands that compose the Philippines. Why? It’s cheap to live in the Philippines. Many retirees’ just don’t have the financial power to live a comfortable lifestyle in the USA. Many retirees may have a retirement of $1,000.00 a month. That doesn’t go very far in the USA. However, in the Philippines you can live a very good lifestyle on just $1,000.00 a month. Many foreigners in the Philippines live on less than $1,000.00, some on just $500.00 a month. Where you live dictates how much money you need. Living in Manila or any big city will cost more than living in one of the smaller towns.

A second home in the Philippines: Many people split their time between the USA and the Philippines. The Philippines is a great place to escape the cold weather and having a second home in the Philippines is inexpensive. Unlike Florida, a winter home in the Philippines is very affordable. A home in a gated community of Cebu City can cost less than $30,000.00. Plus, you can have a live maid for about $30.00 a month and even a live in Nurse for around $50.00 to $75.00 a month. Of course you can buy a really big house in a gated community for lots more, but the average two bedroom is about $30,000.00 and a nice big four bedroom for about $60,000.00. Another option is buy a Condo or townhouse for about the same money. Plus buying a condo or townhouse is a much simpler process for a foreigner. Visit our friends at the following web site to see hundreds of cebu houses, condos, townhouses for sale and apartments for rent. Garcesrealestate.com

Rent a nice house for less than $200.00 a month: It is possible to find a house to rent for under $200.00 and that means a nice little house, not a dump. I rented a brand new two bedroom in Cebu City in 2004 for $125.00 a month. Later that year I was offered to rent a nice house in Camotes Islands that was on the ocean for just $120.00 a month. Where you live dictates what you spend for rent.

If you're wondering if it really is possible to live in Paradise but want more details

Camotes Islands makes for a great place to retire or to have a second home.  (do you have any questions? Check out our forum here!)
Camotes is full things to see and do. Enjoy the resorts, beaches, caves and the ocean. Many of the locals living on Camotes Islands only make about $3.00 to $4.00 per day and they are comfortable. This doesn’t mean you want to make it on just that little bit of money, but if you have a monthly income of$500.00 imagine how well you could live in Camotes. As a rule people living in Cebu City and Camotes, making just $400.00 a month are considered upper middle class. Camotes Islands are just two hours from Cebu City by fastcraft.

Life in Camotes: Camotes Islands are a well kept secret. The land and beaches are unspoiled. The Islands are full of natural beauty to include: Caves, White sand beaches, Resorts and of course lots of pretty girls. Shopping in Camotes is done during market days in each of the Municipalities. For things not sold in the markets you need to go into Cebu City. Life in Camotes is one of relaxation and calm.
