Philippine Island Expenses The Cost of Living in Paradise

It

It's Cheap to Live In Camotes: What does it cost to live in Camotes? It really depends on YOU and what type of lifestyle you want to live. Foreigners living in the city and going to bars, chasing girls can spend a lot of money. In Camotes the lifestyle is much more relaxed.

Now about a Budget, If you live in one of the Pension Houses you will save a lot of money. However, most of us want our own place to call home. Every month my budget changes, but this will give you an idea of how little it cost to live in Camotes. Again, it depends on how you want to live. You could live in Nipa Hut as a hermit and eat rice and dried fish everyday. This would cost about Nothing!

BUDGET 2007

Husband and wife, Estimated Budget for a one bedroom house in Camotes Islands (Cebu). We own the house and land. We have our own water well with water storage tank and air con. The electric cost is mostly to run the air con.

Monthly basic cost to live in Camotes $457.74 ($1.00=P42.00) Annual costs: $5,492.88 plus medical insurance and annual trip out of country (Visa) This depends if we go to the US or just Malaysia, Hong Kong. Cheap 2 day trip to Malaysia can sometimes be the best way to save money.

Please note that our monthly costs can vary greatly. The above budget is very basic and serves only as a base to compare what your needs may be to live in Camotes Islands. Also we like to go to Cebu City about every month to stock up on western type foods and to have some fun in the city. We also do lots of shopping in the city. When we go to the city we usually stay for two nights at a hotel and eat at different restaurants. Our cost for a monthly trip to the city normally cost about $300.00

A good way to make your money go a little further, maybe a lot further is to have a home business in the Philippines. Don't bother with a store or some other type of Philippine home business, it will most likely fail. To make money in the Philippines you need a business that doesn't rely on the Philippine economy. Start a business that can draw from the entire globe. Maybe build a web site? Click Here For More Information. Another option is a really good and sound business that will make you some serious cash.
